Ash class enjoying Science afternoon

Ash class held their belated science afternoon on Friday 20th November. They heard the story of the fated cruise liner Titanic and thought about what it must have been like to have been in a lifeboat. Then they did some experiments to investigate the effects of cold on the human body. They tested whether it took longer to perform a task with cold hands and whether bodies huddled together on a lifeboat kept warmer than single individuals. Finally remembering that seafarers use flares to call for help in distress, Ash made straw rockets and investigated whether longer rockets travel further than shorter ones.
