Welcome to the Governors’ section
All governance boards, no matter what type of school have three core functions:
Effective governance is based on six recognised key features:
The Governing Body of Fen Drayton Primary School comprises of 12 Governors:
Governors can serve for up to four years before being re-elected.
Upon joining the Governing Board, governors are allocated to one of two sub-committees which meets every half term. These Committees have particular terms of reference and delegated responsibilities for key areas of the school.
The Curriculum and Learning Committee (C&L)
The Resources and Infrastructure Committee (R&I)
In 2019-20, The Governing Board at Fen Drayton also agreed the benefits of creating a third HR sub-committee. Plans to initiate this are temporarily on hold until school and governor operations are back to normal after the Covid-19 lockdown.
The HR Committee (HR) will:
In addition to our main committees, delegated governors also participate in the following:
And can be called upon to form any of the following panels when required:
The work and actions of the sub-committees are reported to all governors at the half-termly meetings of the Full Governing Body or FGB, ensuring we monitor progress against and continue to strive towards our strategic goals:
The Agenda section contains copies of the agendas for all meetings. Please note that due to the size of the school, minutes of the meetings are not made public in the interest of protecting anonymity. Details of attendance at meetings is provided.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.
We have also provided a Register of Governor Interests for your information.
Fen Drayton Primary School PUBLICATION OF GOVERNOR’S DETAILS AND REGISTER OF INTERESTS Governors hold an important public office and their identity should be known to their school and wider communities. In the interests of transparency, a governing body should publish on its website up-to-date details of is governance arrangements in a readily accessible form. |
