Welcome back Ash Class!
I hope you had a lovely Easter break and are ready to work hard this term.
Please find below our topic map and topic homework for this term.
PE days will continue to be on a Thursday and Friday so please come to school in your PE kits on those days.
Please ensure reading books are in school daily so we can hear readers.
Weekly spellings will be posted on here and put into your homework book.
Please also continue with at least 2 pages of your GPS and Power Maths books every week.
Y2 - Power Maths Book 2B Unit 9 (properties of shapes)
Y3 - Power Maths Book 3B Unit 8 (length) and Book 3C unit 12 (Angles and properties of shapes)
Any questions - please ask!
Well done for all your hard work over the last few weeks and thank you for sending us photos of your work - it is great to see! We have enjoyed seeing you on all the various Zoom sessions too, you have all worked so hard.
For the next 3 weeks we will not be sending home your homework books, but we will continue to post the weekly spellings on here for you to practise at home ready for a test every Monday.
We will also be sending home your Power Maths books and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar booklets to continue to be worked on for homework as they will reinforce our work in class. I will post on Class Dojo and the school website the pages to have a go at each week.
You are encouraged to find out about another country or place for your topic homework, and we would love to see these when completed! It could be writing, maps, pictures, facts etc. Please try to complete this before the end of term if possible.
Any questions - please do ask!
WORLD BOOK DAY AUDIOBOOKS
Enjoy our brand new, FREE audiobooks while you get ready for World Book Day 2021!
From Kevin and Katie Tsang’s captivating story of Dragon Mountain, to Matt and Tom Oldfield’s Ultimate Football Heroes’ story of Marcus Rashford, we have free audiobooks for readers with all sorts of interests. Whether you’re reading together with the family, or listening in your own time, find your next audiobook to tune into here!
Take ten minutes to share stories together. Our Share A Story Corner videos have familiar characters and easy to follow stories, and tips for reading together. Look at the pictures together, guess what the characters are up to and ask your child what they think will happen next. Your child will soon be asking to read together again and again! It’s never too early to read stories with your child and spending just ten minutes every day enjoying books together can make a BIG difference to their development. Sharing stories boosts creativity and imagination, improves wellbeing, is a positive experience for parents, carers, guardians, grandparents – everyone! – and is great fun!
I hope you are all well and enjoying the home learning.
I have sent an email to your parents about our Ash class Zoom maths sessions next week (Monday / Wednesday at 10am (Y3) and 11am (Y2).
Please let me know if you have not received the links.
I hope you can make it and I look forward to seeing you all.
