Hello again Ash Class.

It was so lovely to see you all at the Ash Class Zoom about the Anglo Saxons - I hope you enjoyed it!

It was lovely to see all of your costumes and things that you have made.   I hope the food you made was yummy! It was great to hear all of your interesting questions, please make sure you have written down your answers.  If there is a question you still have for Mrs Archer, please email me or Tristan and he can ask her. It would be really great if you could send Mrs Archer a thank you message, try emailing it to Tristan and he can show her. If you could write about it, draw some pictures or send me a photo we can put them in the next newsletter and on the website.  Mrs Archer and I are planning another Zoom session on 24th June about the Vikings this time, so try to get things ready for that one.

We will have a Zoom session every Wednesday at 2pm to go over the topic work, and you will all still have a maths Zoom every week, please remember to get your 1p and 10p coins ready and 100 small objects to count.

Anglo Saxon recipes to try at home...

Anglo Saxon Clothing

Dear Ash Class,

I hope you have had a lovely half term break.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about the Anglo Saxons.  We will be moving onto learning about the Vikings soon, but to finish off the topic Mrs Archer and I are planning for one of our Zoom sessions to have an Anglo Saxon theme! This will be on 10th June, so try to get a costume ready!  There are some examples below. We will also be putting some Anglo Saxon recipes on here for you to make at home and it would be great if you could make something to show, for example an Anglo Saxon picture, model boat or house, jewellery, writing in runes, a helmet or shield.

As we will not be able to go on our class trip to West Stow Anglo Saxon village, I would like you to try to find out about the place and make a leaflet about it.  Look at the information and videos below. Perhaps when it reopens you could visit with your family?

Please continue to check Purple Mash emails and 2dos.

Take care,

From Mrs Cayley

You Wouldn’t Want to Be an Anglo-Saxon Peasant!

Well done to Ash class children and parents for your fantastic work, resourcefulness and resilience over the last few weeks at home.  We have enjoyed reading your emails, and looking at your photos and work.

Today is the last day of term, and we will now be saying a very sad goodbye and good luck to Mrs Haigh as she leaves us to go and work at another school.  We are very sorry that we have not all been able to say goodbye face-to-face, but hopefully lots of you have sent her a good luck message or picture on Purple Mash (it's not too late if you have not already done so!).  Mrs Haigh has been working in Ash class for the last four years, and we wish her all the best at her new school, and I'm sure we will stay in touch!

For those of you that have had a go at the White Rose home learning resources on fractions - WELL DONE! I'm sure they will still be accessible if you have not had a chance to look yet.  If you have got your Power Maths 2B or 3B at home, you can have a go at the fractions pages at the back - to finish the book off!  If not, you can find them below.

We wish you all a restful and safe Easter break. Enjoy spending time with your families and we look forward to hearing all about your experiences.  You can still contact us on our class email at any time, at ash@fendrayton.cambs.sch.uk and via pupil's Purple Mash email at any time.

Best wishes, and Happy Easter!

Love from Mrs Cayley and Mrs Haigh
